Too hot to cook? Too broke to travel far? A visit to the little nineteenth-century Louisiana rivertown of St. Francisville may be just the ticket to ditch the summer doldrums and tickle the taste buds. This small town boasts a surprising variety of restaurant offerings, running the gamut from Cajun-Creole to plantation style, Mexican to Chinese, soul food to seafood, down-home country, and at least one excellent upscale eatery. Throw in simple Monday suppers with song at the casual little local artsy salon, a wine parlor, and a gas station serving up the best fried chicken in the world, and you’ve got enough sustenance to carry you through a weekend’s visit, maybe even longer.

RCBS Formed
Rural Community Broadcasting Service, a new non-profit corporation, has been formed for public service television programming for East and West Feliciana and Pointe Coupee parishes.
RCBS will provide localized public service television programs and work with school districts to develop a media technology curriculum and an internship program for students in the area. |

Feliciana Hummingbird Celebration
The Feliciana Hummingbird Celebration has been scheduled for July 24th & 25th. It will begin with a 'Wine and cheese" reception on Friday evening, July 24th, at Rosedown Plantation at 6pm while stroling the gardens. Then a presentation from Mr. Bob Loudon on the hummingbirds of Ecuador. Admission is $10. |

St. Francisville Farmer's Market Opens!
The St. Francisville Farmer's Market will open TODAY, Thursday May 14th from Noon to 5pm at the 4-H Barn....same location.
Every can come out on Thursday's and get those "homegrown" vegetables that are freshly picked. Please come and support our local farmers and gardeners!

If you know of anyone who is moving to St. Francisville, they can call the Chamber office at 635-6717 and request a re-location packet.
